Other work permits

If you are interested in staying in Canada  after your post-graduation work permit expires, it may be possible to do so. You may be eligible for the BC Provincial Nominee Program, your employer can apply to Service Canada for a Labour Market Opinion, or you can consider the Canadian Experience Class of permanent residency. If your home country has a reciprocal agreement with Canada, you may also be eligible for a working holiday visa.

Labour Market Opinion (LMO)

An option for those who have completed their post-graduation work permit term or are not eligible to apply for the post-graduation work permit or Provincial Nominee Program may be the Labour Market Opinion (LMO).

Your employer may be able to apply to Service Canada for an LMO.

If the opinion is favorable, you may apply for a work permit.

Employers of international graduates may not have to meet the typical standards for trying to recruit Canadians and for wage levels.
