Study & Research Workshops 

Workshops are free and cover a variety of topics such as:

  • Strategies for exam preparation

The Centre offers:

  • Workshops and programs to support student learning

AMS tutoring services 

Services include tutoring in particular subjects and instruction on learning strategies. Their services include:

  • Free drop-in tutoring (all levels of English; 100-level math, chemistry, and physics; other sciences and arts)
  • Free online tutoring (all levels of English; 100-level math, chemistry, and physics; other sciences and arts)
  • Tutoring by appointment ($18 per hour)
  • Online tutor registry
  • Tutoring skills workshops (for tutors)

Math tutorials

Location: Irving K. Barber Learning Centre (map)

The Mathematics Department offers free drop-in tutorials for select undergraduate courses. The tutorial centre is staffed by undergraduate and graduate teaching assistants (TAs). For a schedule of tutorials, visit the Mathematics Department website or check out the bulletin boards in the Math buildings.

Library tutorials and helpful resources

The UBC Library offers instruction sessions, tutorials, online real-time help, and a range of quick reference publications to help students find what they need. Writing Centre 

The Writing Centre offers free tutoring and a variety of writing courses. Exchange students will have to pay for all courses as they are not covered by the exchange agreement.
