Global Lounge AAI

Africa Awareness Initiative (AAI)

The global lounge has really had a huge impact on I and Africa Awareness Initiative this year. For one it has provided a physical space for us to use for our events and has given us the resources needed to make a lot of our events successful such as the Global Fund which was used towards our conference week. The Global Lounge has impacted me personally to because it has served as a place for me meet people who care about the world and what happens in it and I have also had the opportunity to learn more everyday about world events, making me a better global citizen.

Global Lounge ISA

International Student Association (ISA)

The Global Lounge has become much more than a Resource Centre for me. This year I was lucky enough to work with two student organizations that use the Global Lounge as their home. Throughout the year, the Global Lounge became a place where I not only had meetings and events, but also met inspiring and proactive students, where people from different areas of the UBC community came together to discuss and create. It was a wonderful experience and I enjoyed every bit of it - from the late nights studying to the UBC-wide events that were born from collaborations with people I met there.
