Dr. Simon K. Y. Lee Global Lounge and Resource Centre

How to get involved?

The Global Lounge has significantly impacted my role as a leader on campus. I met some of the most involved students on campus who value global issues as much as I do. The space fostered the growth of a global community, and I would recommend the Global Lounge as the place to get involved with if someone is interested in working on global issues from UBC.     - Kait, Caribbean African Association and Marine Drive Residence Life

Whether it's finding a venue, reaching a contact, or learning about avenues for funding, I've known the Lounge to respond to my inquiries with flexibility, openness, and a sincere interest in making things possible.  It's important to feel as though your university is interested in investing in your potential - the Lounge is one way in which this is manifest.  And of course, I am eternally grateful for the countless cups of coffee that are readily available and increase my appreciation for events, conversations, and life in general!  - Tarini, WUSC

The Global Lounge sounds like a place I’d be interested in connecting with,  but where do I start? I really want to get involved on campus, but I have no idea which club to join, which position I should hold, or what interests me the most!!!

If you feel this way, the staff and student-volunteers at the Global Lounge & Resource Centre can help you get involved with one with our 29 network members!

Join our mailing list HERE for more involvement opportunities and events happening in the space!

"The Global Lounge has become much more than a Resource Centre for me. This year I was lucky enough to work with two student organizations that use the Global Lounge as their home. Throughout the year, the Global Lounge became a place where I not only had meetings and events, but also met inspiring and proactive students, where people from different areas of the UBC community came together to discuss and create. It was a wonderful experience and I enjoyed every bit of it - from the late nights studying to the UBC-wide events that were born from collaborations with people I met there."
