Booking the Global Lounge

Are you looking for a place to host your internationally-focused event? The Simon K.Y. Lee Global Lounge may be the right place for you.

Global Lounge Availability

Please note: We are closed for bookings for the 2012 Summer term. We will begin accepting booking requests in September 2012.

To book the space:

Check the Global Lounge availability calendar (please be sure to look at the calendar in “Week” view so all bookings are viewable).
If the Global Lounge is available, complete the electronic booking form here. Please allow 2 business days for bookings during our regular hours and 5 business days for off-hour bookings. We will contact you once your booking is confirmed.

Hours: 12pm to 8pm, Monday to Friday

Bookings beyond our regular hours will be subject to a charge of $20/hour plus HST, payable to International House.

Note: If you would like a re-occurring booking (once a week for example), please contact us via email: global.lounge@ubc.ca

Cancellation Policy

The Global Lounge & Resource Centre is committed to providing a high quality venue for UBC students, staff and faculty. We recognize that bookings may need to be cancelled. In these situations we ask that you please notify us of your need to cancel an event booking within 48 hours if possible.

If you need to cancel your booking/s, our cancellation policy is as follows:

Please send cancellation details to the Global Lounge staff by email (global.lounge@ubc.ca) or by telephone (604-827-4774). We request that you inform us of cancellations as soon as possible so we can reallocate the space to a person on the waiting list.
Bookings that are NOT cancelled in advance will result in a warning to the event organizers.
After three warnings, event organizers will have their Global Lounge booking privileges revoked.
