International Student Advisors

Advising

International Student Advisors (ISAs) are available for in-person appointments, by email (isa@students.ubc.ca), and by telephone to assist you throughout your time at UBC.

ISAs specialize in topics that are relevant to international students. They are your best source of information for the following issues:

If you aren’t sure where to go to answer your questions, ISAs can act as a starting point and guide you to the proper resources or services.

Drop-In Advising

International Student Advisors are available for drop-in appointments from Monday to Friday, 1:00 to 4:00 pm.

Please bring any documents related to your questions or concerns with you to see the Advisor.  This includes study permits, work permits, passports, applications, etc.

E-bulletins

ISAs share new information for international students through email updates, called e-bulletins.

  • All international students at UBC can expect to receive two or three e-bulletins each year from ISAs.
  • This our best way to communicate urgent information and changes to immigration, work and health insurance regulations that effect all international students.
  • Don’t auto-delete your e-bulletins! Read them for important information.
  • If you have questions or suggestions for topics you would like to see covered in an e-bulletin, please let us know.
