Accommodation
Most visiting exchange students at UBC choose to live in one of the furnished student residences on campus. You will be given priority for a room in selected on-campus residences provided that you complete the housing application and submit the $50 CAD non-refundable application fee by the exchange application deadline. If you are studying at UBC for two terms, it is not possible to live in residence for only one of those two terms.
Please note that incoming exchange students are not placed in one particular residence. UBC supports student integration; we encourage you to become acquainted with the diverse and interesting student body we have on campus.

Holiday break
Totem Park and Place Vanier residences will be closed during the winter holiday because of safety concerns about so few residents staying alone in large empty buildings.
If you are a resident of Totem Park of Place Vanier, you will not be permitted to reside in or have access to your room during this time, though your belongings may remain in your room. UBC Housing will provide resources and support to find alternate housing if you plan to stay on campus during this time.
