Types of financial support

Special accommodations are made to ensure students with disabilities have access to the funding they need.

What awards am I eligible for?

See awards for students with disabilities. We select recipients for these awards by application.

Are there course load requirements I should be aware of?

According to UBC Senate Regulations, students must take 27 credits per school year to be considered for awards. They also must take at least 24 credits to continue to hold the award. If you have a disability that causes you to take a reduced course load, you can be considered for awards even if you registered for fewer than 27 credits per year.

If you are taking a reduced course load and are registered with Access & Diversity, you need to provide us with documentation in order to be considered for awards. For more information, please contact Student Financial Assistance and Awards.

Am I eligible for bursaries?

Our bursary program requires that students retain their student loan eligibility to be considered for and to maintain their eligibility for bursaries. If you have permission to study at 40% of a full-time course load, you will also be eligible to keep your UBC bursary at that level.

For detailed information on bursaries and the eligibility criteria, please refer to UBC Bursaries.
