After you apply
1. UBC will process your application
- We will determine the types and amount of funding that you’re eligible to receive, based on your cost of attendance and the information in your FAFSA.
- We will notify you by email of your loan assessment and the dates the funding will be disbursed.
Parent PLUS borrowers, please note: students will be sent a “Parent PLUS Loan - Agreement to Release Funds” form along with the funding assessment notification. This form must be returned promptly to ensure that funds can be issued as quickly as possible.
2. Your funding will be disbursed
When will your funding be disbursed?
- Your funding will be disbursed according to the schedule detailed in your funding letter.
How will you receive your funding?
- UBC will pay your funding towards your tuition and student fees.
- Any remainder of funding available after your tuition and student fees are paid will issue to you as a cheque. You will be emailed when this refund cheque is ready for you to pick up.
Please note that your funding will be issued in Canadian currency, as will any refund cheque that you receive.
