Scholarships & awards
Most scholarship and award programs for graduate students are administered by the Faculty of Graduate Studies. Under Award Opportunities you can search for award information for prospective or current students.
Graduate students can also apply for the following award programs administered through Student Financial Assistance & Awards:
Bursaries
Bursaries provide need-based support to help fill your "unmet need." Unmet need is the gap between your assessed financial need and the maximum amount of government assistance you can receive.
Before you apply for a bursary, we recommend that you:
- Check that your program is eligible for bursary support under Policy 72 - Access to University of British Columbia
- Read the full bursary eligibility criteria
Work opportunities
There are a variety of work opportunities available to graduate students:
- Student Service Appointments & Sessional Lecturer opportunities may be available through the Faculty of Graduate Studies. Check out working while studying for details.
- Work Study provides on-campus employment opportunities for full-time domestic students and is a great way to gain some additional income during the academic year. Check out the details and job postings.
