How to register
To register for a course, you must first be admitted to UBC. If you are not yet admitted, visit the prospective students website. Otherwise, follow these steps:
-
Find out when your registration opens.
-
Pay the registration deposit in advance of your registration date. If you are a newly admitted UBC student, the acceptance deposit you paid counts as the registration deposit for the first session you register in.
-
Check the degree and specialization requirements for your program. First-year students, consult the Degree Planning Chart. If you are a continuing student in a participating program, use Degree Navigator to see the requirements to complete your program. If you still have questions about course planning, visit the academic planning pages.
-
View the course schedule to find the courses you would like to register for. There you can create worklists with alternative courses chosen in the event that the courses you want are full when you register. Prepare a few draft worklists in advance of your registration date.
-
When your registration opens, log in to the SSC and register for your courses. Many courses fill up quickly, so register as soon as possible to avoid disappointment.
Don't forget to pay your fees
In the "Finances" menu in the SSC, check your tuition and student fee assessment, and your payment due date. Make sure to pay fees on time, or you may be charged a late payment fee and interest on the outstanding amount.
