Course acceleration
Accelerating a course means completing the course work then writing the final examination during an earlier examination period than the scheduled course completion date.
Instructions
- Email instructor for approval.
- Before the deadline:
- forward instructor's email approval to Enrolment Services at distance.education@ubc.ca
- include your name, UBC student number, and the course name, number and section
- Enrolment Services emails you confirmation (within approximately one week).

Approval
- Acceleration is subject to instructor approval.
- Acceleration is not possible for some courses.
- You must confirm acceptable assignment due dates with instructor.
- All course work must be completed before exam.
- If acceleration is necessary, confirm approval before registration in course.
Things to consider
- Acceleration may impact student loan or other funding.
- If you are accelerating the course to meet graduation deadlines:
- tell your instructor
- inform your faculty
