2011/12 Winter Session
September 2011
| September 5 | Labour Day. University closed. |
| September 6 | 2010/11 Winter Session Term 1 begins for most faculties. Imagine Day held in lieu of first day of classes (participating programs). See Imagine UBC for details and list of participating programs. |
| September 7 | Last day for payment of first instalment of fees for registration and course changes made before September 1. Students will be assessed processing fee and interest will be assessed until payment is made in full. |
| September 20 |
Term 1 courses: Last day for change in registration and withdrawal from most Winter Session Term 1 courses without receiving a "W" standing. Term 1 courses: Last day to elect Credit/D/Fail grading for eligible courses. |
| September 23 |
Term 1-2 courses: Last day for change in registration and withdrawal from most Winter Session Term 1-2 courses without receiving a "W" standing. Term 1-2 courses: Last day to elect Credit/D/Fail for eligible courses |
October 2011
| October 7 | Last day for payment of fees for any fee assessment incurred between September 1 and September 30. |
| October 10 | Thanksgiving Day. University closed. |
| October 14 | Term 1 courses: Last day for withdrawal from most Winter Session Term 1 courses. Students will receive a "W" standing. |
| October 28 | Last day for completion of bachelor's degree program requirements for graduation in November. |
November 2011
| November 11 | Remembrance Day. University closed. |
| November 23 | Access & Diversity: Recommended date for submission of materials for alternate format production for Winter Session Term 2. |
| November 23–25 | November Congregation. |
| November 25 | Term 1-2 courses: Last day for withdrawal from most Winter Session Term 1-2 courses with withdrawal standing of "W" recorded on a student's academic record. |
| November 29 | Access & Diversity: Last day for submission of Exam Accommodation forms for December exams. |
December 2011
| December 2 | Last day of classes for most faculties. |
| December 6–20 | Term 1 exams for most faculties. |
| December 25 | Christmas Day. University closed. |
| December 26 | Boxing Day. University closed. |
| December 27 | Holiday in lieu of Christmas Day. University closed. |
| December 28 | Reduced student services in most departments until January 3. |
January 2012
| January 4 | Winter Session Term 2 begins for most faculties. |
| January 6 | Last day for payment of second instalment of fees for registration or course changes made before December 31. |
| January 16 |
Term 2 courses: Last day for change in registration and withdrawal from most Winter Session Term 2 courses without receiving a "W" standing. Term 2 courses: Last day to elect Credit/D/Fail grading for eligible courses. |
February 2012
| February 7 | Last day for payment of fees for any fee assessment incurred between January 1–31. |
| February 10 | Term 2 courses: Last day for withdrawal from most Winter Session Term 2 courses. Students will receive a "W" standing. |
| February 20–24 | Mid-term break for begins for most faculties. Lectures and labs will be cancelled. |
| February 29 | Last day for graduation applications to be submitted to Enrolment Services by all students expecting to graduate in May. |
March 2012
| March 15 | Last day of submission of graduating essays and theses for most bachelor degree programs. |
April 2012
| April 4 | Access & Diversity: Last day for submission of Exam Accommodation forms for April exams. |
April 5 |
Last day of classes for most faculties. |
| April 6 | Good Friday. University closed. |
| April 9 | Easter Monday. University closed. |
| April 11–25 | Term 2 exams for most faculties. |
| April 25 | 2011/12 Winter Session ends |
Please note:
- For important deadlines, such as: last day for withdrawal without a "W" standing recorded on a student's academic record; last day to elect Credit/D/Fail grading for eligible courses; and last day for withdrawal with "W" recorded on a student's academic record, please look up your courses in the Course Schedule.
- Term 1 of Summer Session begins in early May and continues through July. Term 2 of Summer Session begins in early July and ends in late August.
- Registration and withdrawal dates for Summer Session vary by course start dates. Check Summer registration dates and summer withdrawal dates on the Course schedule for details.
