Science programs

Are you a UBC undergraduate or graduate student with a background in science? Are you interested in bringing science to life for students at a Vancouver elementary or secondary school?
If so, the Trek Program in collaboration with the UBC Let’s Talk Science Partnership Program has two different opportunities for you to consider:
- Scientific Methods and Research Training (SMaRT)
This program involves engaging students in grades 5 to 7 in hands-on science activities, giving them a better understanding of the goals and methods of scientific research.

- Science Mentorship Program
UBC graduate and undergraduate science students provide support and guidance to high school students as they develop a science fair project. UBC students also help the secondary school staff implement the school science fair.

How undergraduate students can get involved
The science programs offer undergraduate students a chance to practice leadership skills, share their passion for science, and lead elementary and secondary students in hands-on science activities
Interested in taking part in SMaRT or the Science Mentorship Program? Registering for these programs is easy. To register, email the School and Non-Profit Partnerships Coordinator Emily Wimbles at emily.wimbles@ubc.ca or call her at 604.682.0161.
How graduate students can get involved
