Not sure where to begin when it comes to integrating community-based experiential learning (CBEL) into your courses and teaching approach? At the UBC-Community Learning Initiative (CLI), we’re here to help. The UBC-CLI was created specifically to work with instructors to develop innovative ways to advance community service learning (CSL), community-based research (CBR), and other forms of community-based experiential learning.

With more than 10 years of experience, and dedicated coordinators working in four faculties (Applied Science, Arts, Land and Food Systems, and the Sauder School of Business), we can help take the mystery out of CBEL. We can connect you with other instructors at UBC who are learning about CBEL or who already have experience with these approaches.

Learn more about how you can begin to include CSL or CBR in your coursework today. Contact UBC-CLI Director Susan Grossman by email at susan.grossman@ubc.ca or by phone at 604.822.0076.
