By incorporating community service learning (CSL) or community-based research (CBR) into your teaching, you will be joining other UBC instructors in the shift towards community-based experiential learning (CBEL) taking place in post-secondary education.
In 2010/11, more than 1,600 UBC students engaged in course-based CBEL opportunities through the UBC-Community Learning Initiative. UBC is committed to increasing the number of courses that incorporate these approaches to learning because of their value for students, faculty, and the community.
