Project priority criteria and application

The Informal Learning Space Committee (ILSC) will assess project requests according to the following criteria. Please review the questions below before submitting your proposal to ensure your project meets the ILSC's objectives.

  • Is there a strong need for this informal learning space?
  • Will it serve a diverse student audience?
  • Will it promote student-faculty interaction?
  • Is it well located on campus to serve the intended student group?
  • Is the space compatible with the setting and purpose?
  • Is it well situated in the building - near entrance, etc.?
  • Is there natural light in the area?
  • Is there adequate access to nearby washrooms?
  • Is it quiet enough for studying?
  • How many individuals is the space intended to accommodate?
  • Is there sufficient space for expansion should it be necessary?
  • Is there adequate proximity to amenities, such as Food Services outlets?
  • Are the mechanical systems adequate for this use?
  • Is there adequate access to electrical outlets?
  • Is the timeline for development realistic?
  • Is there value for the money?
