Faculty Service Centre training
Scheduling Services offers training on the scheduling component of the Faculty Service Centre, UBC's information system. Two types of sessions are offered throughout the year to support timetable representatives with scheduling.
Beginner sessions are available to those who are new to the system or have no formal training. These sessions typically run for two hours and you will have the opportunity to ask questions.
Those with more experience can participate in an open lab session with a Scheduling Services staff member present to answer questions. Lab sessions are flexible in length, ranging from thirty minutes to two hours, depending on your preference.
Upcoming sessions
Beginner training sessions: TBA
Open lab sessions: TBA
Sign up
To sign up for a training session, you will need "timetable representative" access to the Faculty Service Centre. You can request access through SIS Security.
You can request to attend a session at any time by emailing Scheduling Services. We will confirm your attendance and provide the time and location of your session by email.
Please note: We require a minimum of three participants to hold a session.
Webinars
Faculty Service Centre scheduling training is now available as an interactive webinar. A webinar (or a "web-based seminar") combines all the features of an in-person session with the added convenience of being able to stay in your home or office. You will be able to hear the presenter and ask questions at any time.
