Work Study & Work Learn

Looking for a well-paid, career-related job on campus? Check out Work Study (for domestic undergraduate and graduate students) and Work Learn (for international undergraduate students).

  • Summer Session positions are posted beginning in April and allow you to work a maximum of 20 hours per week between May 1 and August 31, for a total of 300 hours.
  • Winter Session positions are posted beginning in August and allow you to work a maximum of 10 hours per week between September 1 and April 30, for a total of 150 hours per term and 300 hours for both terms.

These programs create part-time jobs for eligible students by giving UBC faculty and staff members $9.00 for every hour you work (e.g., if a professor hires you at $16.16 per hour, we give them $9.00 per hour back).
