Resume Clinics & Advising
Did you know that employers spend an average of 20 seconds reviewing each resume?
Beat that 20-second scan and make your job applications more effective by attending a resume clinic or one-on-one advising session with the Career Peers.
Resume Clinics
At the 1-hour long resume clinics, you will receive a short presentation on resume basics, and then get feedback on your resume and cover letters in a small group setting.

Please bring a paper copy of your resume and/or cover letter as well as a copy of any job posting to which you may be applying. Because students will be working in groups, it is challenging to accommodate laptops during the clinics.
Want to get a headstart before attending resume advising? Check out the resume and cover letter resource page for samples and tip sheets.
Note: On the following dates, the regularly scheduled resume clinic will not take place:
-
Tuesday, April 24 -
Wednesday, May 9 -
Wednesday, May 16
One-on-One Resume Advising
Meet with a Career Peer for 30 minutes of individual feedback on your resume. Advising takes place in the Career Services office at 1036 Brock Hall.
Note:
About the Career Peers
The Career Peers are important members of the UBC Career Services team, working closely together to develop and deliver programming for the diverse population of students on campus. These volunteers are trained to coach their fellow students in writing resumes and cover letters.
