Mentors bring a wide range of qualities and motivations to the UBC Tri-Mentoring program – from a knack for listening to a desire to give back some of the support and encouragement they once received. We've created a list of some of the qualities shared by successful mentors in Tri-Mentoring. Take this quiz to see if you are made to mentor.

1. Do you have professional work exprience related to your field? Yes No
2. Have you completed an undergraduate degree (or higher)? Yes No
3. Are you enthusiastic about your work and new developments in your field? Yes No
4. Are you willing to talk openly and honestly about your work and life experiences? Yes No
5. Are you able to commit the necessary time (10-15 hours over an 8 month period between September and April) to mentoring a student? e.g. through face-to-face meetings, phone conversations or email? Yes No
6. Are you interested in sharing your knowledge and expertise in order to help a student realize his or her potential? Yes No
