Gender in higher education

On January 20, 2009, women students at the University of British Columbia were invited to an in-person consultation and an online forum to talk about the experiences of women students at UBC.
The purpose of this discussion was:
- to gain a better understanding of where students are having good experiences and where the University can improve itself to allow all women students the opportunity to thrive on campus;
- to begin a conversation to understand what these issues are so that the necessary actions may be taken; and
- to develop a strategic plan to intentionally and systematically address areas where women students are struggling.
