Are you interested in getting involved in social justice issues? Both on campus and in the wider community, there are many ways to participate and affect change.
- Africa Awareness
- Africa Awareness is a UBC student initiative that aims to encourage dialogue and scholarly discourse about the continent, the diaspora, and globalization. It anticipates the establishment of an African Studies Institute at UBC.
- Asian Canadian Cultural Organization
- The Asian Canadian Cultural Organization is a non-profit student collective that aims to promote greater awareness of Pan-Asian Canadian issues through campus and community outreach and activities. Many UBC students have roots in Asian countries and represent diverse cultures across Vancouver.
- Check Your Head (CYH): The Youth Global Education Network
- CYH is a youth-driven organization that educates young people about the connection between global issues and local realities. CYH provides education, resources, training, and support for youth who will facilitate workshops, organize events, and coordinate projects promoting education and action around issues of globalization and social justice.
- Equity Ambassador Program
- The Equity Ambassadors promote respectful communities of difference by raising students' awareness about equity and inclusivity through workshops, discussion groups, information tables, articles, and events.
