Sexual Orientation Stereotypes

Sexual Orientation Stereotypes poster series

The Sexual Orientation Stereotypes poster series.

The poster series was a collaborative effort between Pride UBC and the Equity Ambassadors. During the project's initial brainstorming, we realized there was a need to bring attention to and address issues pertaining to sexuality and inclusivity across campus.

Each poster in the series has its own unique goal. One of the posters aims to provide resources and support for those who may be questioning their sexuality and don't know where to find assistance. Another poster attempts to combat slang usage of the word "gay," encouraging people to think critically about the words they use – and the effects of such usage. The other posters challenge stereotypes about relationships and promote inclusivity of all forms of sexuality and gender expression.

The posters were put up across campus for UBC's Outweek. But we hope that they'll remain visible throughout the year and continue to have a positive impact at UBC.
