The Equity Ambassador office in Brock Hall.


 

Equity Ambassadors meet every Tuesday from 4:00 to 6:00 pm and volunteer five hours a week to help increase awareness about human rights issues, including discrimination and harassment.

Program requirements

  • Attendance at all program training sessions, including a weekend retreat, monthly training sessions, and the Tuesday meetings
  • Commitment to five hours of program participation weekly
  • Active involvement in program committees, initiatives, and events

Core values

  • Interest in human rights issues, including sexism, racism, ableism, homophobia, classism, etc.
  • Willingness to listen respectfully to different points of view
  • Openness to self-reflection
  • Ability to be a team player
  • Commitment to meeting deadlines and performing tasks in a timely manner

While training is provided on specific human rights issues, a commitment to the core values is central to a successful and fulfilling experience for all those involved in the program.
