Notetaking

student taking class notes

Access & Diversity offers a notetaking service to eligible students who, because of their disability, are not able to take their own or sufficient notes in class.

If you feel that this accommodation is warranted by your disability, please contact your Diversity Advisor – Disability.

Requesting notetaking

If you are approved to receive the notetaking service, you'll need to submit a request through the Online Notetaker Request Form at the outset of each term that you require notes for. Requests for notetaking must be completed by the third week of the term or one week after the Add/Drop date; if you submit a request after the deadline, it will not be accepted. Contact your Diversity Advisor - Disability if you have any questions about your notetaker request.

Recruiting notetakers

Access & Diversity recruits notetakers by emailing your classmates. Applicants must submit an application and meet Access & Diversity's hiring criteria. See becoming a student assistant for more information about how to apply for notetaker positions.

The assigned notetaker is responsible for emailing you their notes no later than 48 hours after the class. If you have concerns regarding the timeliness or quality of the notes, please contact us.

Fulfilling requests

Access & Diversity will do its best to fulfill notetaking requests. However, we cannot guarantee that all requests will be filled.

Class attendance

The notetaking service does not replace your attendance requirements.
