Access & Diversity accomplishes its work by:
- Understanding and enhancing the diversity of our student communities.
- Understanding and improving the experiences of UBC students.
- Promoting meaningful opportunities for diversity in academic dialogue and educational programming.
- Strengthening UBC's organizational structures supporting social sustainability.
Disability-related accommodations
Access & Diversity works to determine and facilitate disability-related accommodations for students, faculty and staff with disabilities and produces alternate format materials for people with print disabilities.
Study and social spaces
Access & Diversity provides study and social spaces for students with disabilities at Crane Library and a social space for women students through the Women Students' Lounge.
Our partners
Our work is guided by our Advisory Council, student experiences, promising practices, and current research and analysis on diversity issues. We are also supported by numerous volunteers, including our student Equity Ambassadors.
